Gallery + Media + Audience = A Perfect Union
Galeria has intensely collaborated with a wide range of cultural institutions, artistic societies and the artistic academic milieu. It is actively involved in artistic education of children and young people (this includes workshops and lectures).
We can vaunt with huge audience numbers and the wide interest from the part of real art connoisseurs.
The gallery’s publishing activity is worth stressing. This includes the catalogues of the exhibitions which are not only nice albums filled with the reproductions of works, but also having factual contents which are worked out by academic professors and art critics. Our books have taken part in numerous contests; for example for a few years they have been nominated to the finals of the Silesian Thing. They also participate in book exhibitions; for example in Lodz Design Boom.
Each exhibition is accompanied by publications and promotional matters in the shape of brochures, invitations, posters, leaflets, flyers, newsletters, advertisements in newspapers, periodicals and artistic magazines. Thanks to various distribution channels these matters are reaching a large and mixed-age group of recipients not only in the region of Silesia, but elsewhere in Poland and also abroad. Large format banners are ordered for a few exhibitions yearly, which are then exposed at the market place of Katowice. Also a number of city-lights are placed at some crucial points of the city.

The BWA Contemporary Art Gallery in Katowice is a self-governmental cultural institution which is artistically independent and open at all art phenomena. In its exhibition halls it presents both artists of international renown and young artists and originators.
Apart from serious problem presentations of Polish and foreign contemporary art, the BWA Contemporary Art Gallery is skilfully realizing its regional programme. It is involved in the contemporary debate on art through exhibitions, sessions and publications. Various kinds of actions are presented parallel, from traditional exhibitions through presentations of multimedia art and performances up to concerts of contemporary music. This turns the gallery into a cultural centre where the output of outstanding artists and current cultural trends are presented.
